Video Inspirations #7

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all well. I came back from Spain last week and immediately went on to work on some personal projects. If you are following me on Instagram you might know what I have been up to, and if not I will be giving you an update very soon…

In the meantime, here is another video inspirations series to share with you my favorites videos of the moment.

Starting with this video announcing the upcoming collection of Maison Martin Margiela for H&M. To be honest I never bought anything from the H&M collaborations but I really do like the concept of bringing the image and codes of an high end design house to the high street. Especially as is is much more rewarding and respectful than simply copying the style of a brand and sticking your label onto it… Also how not to love the way this shetch comes to life…

Being a designer I always get fascinated when I get a glimpse into some of the most prestigious design studios.

Here we follow the Chanel Atelier during the creation of their iconic little black jacket. When you see the work that goes on behind the creation of any hand made pieces, you have to accept to pay a certain price as the knowledge, craftsmanship and passion that goes in is comparable to no other. I bet that if we spent a day into a Zara factory in China we would definitely not get out with the same feeling…

This is an exhibition I really wanted to see but having already left Madrid I will not be able to…

The Sartorialist and the Spanish brand Loewe are unveiling a collection of street style pictures taken by Scott Schuman. It will give you the opportunity to see his images in print to change from our computer screen and you might even be able to meet the man himself as I heard he will be in Madrid soon … Also, some of the pictures will be included in his upcoming book. The exhibition is running from the 14th of June until the 5th of August in the Loewe store (Gran Via 8) as part of the Photo España Festival.

A must see if you are around this summer!

How not to love Tamu? For those of you who don’t know her, she’s the editor in chief of Grazia.it and the photographer behind the blog All the Pretty Birds. You always see her in the most amazing outfits in and out of fashion shows with her camera as her only weapon. Not only is she stylish, but she is also very sweet. So I was very happy when I discovered her video, a while ago, on the personal style video blog Style Like U (if you don’t know this website check it out ;-). Isn’t she charming?

And here is just a little music video by Duran Duran sent to me by my friend Chara who I have worked with on different projects. The video is not new but has just the recommended dose of timeless decadence, great styling and supermodels as it features Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, Cindy Crawford and Yasmin Le Bon… I sometimes miss the era of supermodels… They never go out of style…!
