Ulyana Sergeenko

They are some people who when they enter a room, attract all the eyes like magnets… Ulyana is one of those person. She has so much poise and elegance that it is almost impossible not to be mesmerized when she makes an entrance. And this was the case during the fashion week. Wherever she went, whatever she wore, people were immediately drawn to her.

At first I didn’t really know who she was, I just found her captivating, perfect in every aspect, make up, pose, attitude… Then I asked her her name. “Ulyana Sergeenko” she said. And still, it didn’t ring a bell… It is when I googled her name in the evening that it hit me..! Of course I knew who she was! She was the woman behind one of my favorite winter 12-13 collection! (below) I have to admit that I am not the best with names especially when they are foreign which is why it took me some time to establish the link.

So who is she in the end? Ulyana Sergeenko is a 32 years old russian fashion designer and photographer. Former model, wife of a Russian insurance billionaire, and Haute Couture avid client, she created her own eponymous line over a year ago. Her Russian Pin-Up inspired collection was an instant success which led her to present her following collection last June during the Parisian Couture fashion week.

Not only does she creates marvelous couture pieces, but she totally leads the lifestyle she designs. Showing up every day in original, theatrical, unique and elegant outfits which could remind us of our grand mother’s dressing but thanks to Ulyana sense of style, always do seems to work, or should I say, dazzle..! No wonder she was voted one of the most fashion forward and influential woman by several Russian magazines.
