Niyona – Hello James!

Two weeks ago I attended the Niyona boutique-atelier opening…  A name I suggest you to remember if like me, you love beautiful things and quality craftsmanship… And I am sure you do!

I met Nina, the talent behind Niyona, for the first time in January 2011 during this press lunch and immediately fell in love with her bags. She was only starting but I could already see how she would set herself aside from your usual bag designer. Not only does she use the finest leather skin but all of her bags are handmade by herself.

No wonder she decided to open her own craftsmanship store! Named after her son James and located in the heart of Brussels, her boutique could also be compared to a concept store. As among her delicious bags, you will be able to find some books, Moleskine diaries and even a motorbike! All connected by the same passion for uniqueness and quality hand work.

And below the store is her atelier, where all the magic happens! You can actually see her working thanks to a clever glass window built into her wooden floor. I really invite you to discover her space as you will love it, and why not have a little chat with Nina who is quite adorable… And so is her son! Isn’t he?
