Stromae music video (day 2a)

The second day was more relax than the first one. Even though we had to film in two different location, it went really smoothly. Probably because we had more room to breathe…

So… 7 am… First stop: Thon Hotel on Avenue Louise.

The theme was … The Young and the Restless! (Les Feux de l’Amour for the frenchies). They wanted to reproduce the cheesy atmosphere of the show with a side of “bad” acting and some frozen smile, fake suspense and killer glances… Everyone had a blast and it turned out really funny.

 

My duty for that scene was to dress them like the main characters of the show. (For the ones who knows, see Victor Newman/ Jack Abbott… ) It meant suits, big old fashioned ties, leather portfolios, cocktail dresses, unnecessary bling… Anything that looked a bit too much and overdone actually. In this situation, too much was not enough! Those looks were really fun to create.

I had to dress four men (including Stomae) and one woman. I went to Marc O Polo for the suits. I digged into my dad’s wardrobe for the old ties and the briefcase…(thanks dad!). The fourth guy was dressed as the hotel barman. And for the woman, we found a really great red cocktail dress (Nikki Newman at her best) and some shinny earrings and a necklace.

So here are the pictures. I also added Edwin, the technician below as I loved his tshirt… Sometimes the action isn’t in front of the camera…
