A few months ago I was asked with a series of other Belgian bloggers to decorate the window of the trendy boutique Lady Guilmot in rue du Bailly in Brussels. They wanted to offer us the opportunity to share our universe though their display so that each two weeks the passengerby of Brussels could get a glimpse into our world. This weekend it was my turn!
As you know, my world turns mainly around my passion for sewing and pattern making so I decided to bring my atelier into the boutique!
All I needed was a vintage sewing machine, a pair of tailored scissors, a tape measure, some thread bobbins and a few buttons. But the window wouldn’t be complete without two of my favorite dresses! One wedding dress and one evening dress, both handmade by myself! I also installed one of my very own mood board with some of my sketches and inspiration images… I cannot tell you how happy I was to see my clothes, my creations, in the window of one of the most popular shopping street of Brussels! Gosh, I really hope to do it again…
What I love about Lady Guilmot aside from the shop itself, is their nice selection of trendy but elegant clothes. The owner, Anne-Sophie, sources her favorite pieces from all around the world to build an eclectic but tasteful range.
They also sell fun jewelry, accessories, shoes and bags to complete their collections.
Aside from decorating the window, I also had the opportunity to style two of their mannequin with their spring summer 2014 pieces which didn’t take me long as I immediately crushed on these leather shorts and this printed top. My second mannequin was sporting a pair of loose silky blue pants and a beige shirt with gold leather insert.
Come and check out the boutique and see my dresses in real until next weekend! Don’t forget to tell me what you thought of it!
