Kristina Bazan

Here is a picture I really like of the adorable Kristina Bazan from the blog Kayture. I met her for the first time during the last Milan fashion week, at the Just Cavalli collection preview, thanks to my friend Ingrid.

We got to chat over a cup of tea and some patisseries and she turned out to be as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside! At only 19, her blog, which she created two years ago, quickly became a phenomenon thanks to her impeccable outfits shot as editorials, her poise and of course, her doll like face…

Valentine for My Little Paris!

This year I started a very exciting collaboration with a website that I absolutely love: My little Paris!

Full of secret tips, restaurants, bars and activities waiting to be uncovered, I came upon their site a few years ago while I was actually living in Paris. I immediately subscribed to their newsletter and never cancelled it since, even after moving outside of the French capital, so much I enjoyed it! What makes My little Paris so special aside from the friendly tone of their writing, are the lovely illustrations that brighten up their content thanks to the talented Japanese artist Kanako.

Byblos

The Byblos show was a first for me as I never went before and I didn’t really know much about the brand as well. I was sitting front row, not that I was suppose to be there but as I arrived a little late, I took the first available seat in sight and it happened to be a good one. It turned out to be a great idea for the pictures, but a very bad idea for the interview I had to give. Because you don’t know? If you sit in front row, people think that you are important or a rich client, obviously if you are rich, you become important (which unfortunately doesn’t always work the other way around 😉

Stella Jean

During the fashion weeks, you see a lot of things, a lot of clothes, fashion shows and presentations. Which means that it can sometimes be hard to distinguish one collection or event from the other. However, when you see something different, something special, it does stick with you and becomes hard to forget. I call them “Coup de Coeur“. This season I had three Coup de Coeur, the first one being for Stella Jean and her amazing winter collection!

I think the first time I heard about Stella Jean was in a magazine, I don’t really remember where but all I know is that I immediately became a fan of her colorful universe. Being half Italian and half Haitian, she wonderfully manages to combine her creole origin with her European upbringing without falling into the costume/ethnic category.

Just Cavalli

After spending an afternoon at the Cavalli headquarter in Milan, I wanted to show you some of my favorite looks from the Just Cavalli collection. I really loved the color explosion that was propelled onto the catwalk, the chunky knits, the Asian references and then, the evening looks, such as the embroidered red party dress and blazer jacket below…

I believe the best way to approach Cavalli is to think about each piece in its individuality instead of going for the total look. As each garment is already loaded with character, it will definitely guaranty you the wow factor..!

Snowy Milano

The Milan fashion week has come to an end and so, over the next few weeks, I will have a tons of picture to share with you..!

It was a very intense week, full of beautiful encounters, amazing clothes, interesting people and… snow!!! Yes, it was actually one of the worst fashion week in term of street style, as five days out of six were spent under the snow and the rain… Ironically, bad weather creates beautiful photographs! The light turned out to be sublimely reflected by the watery streets and the snow added a touch of poesy to each shot…

Olivia Palermo

I am not really the fan type person, but I have to admit that when I saw Olivia Palermo in person for the first time, at the Furla boutique opening party, I immediately fell under her charm so much she was adorable!

She was wearing a monochrome blazer jacket on a white trouser. Needless to say that her style was, as usual, impeccable. I also admired her poise, her elegance and her friendliness, so I really hope to see more of her before the end of the week…

Video Inspirations #10

Hi everyone! Before running off to shoot for the Milan fashion week*, which is starting today, I wanted to share with you some of the cool videos I came across lately… And not to make anyone jealous; I got you one for the arty, one for the boys and one for the girls…

*Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for the latest on the fashion week.

Starting with this very interesting interview of the amazingly talented photo journalist Steve McCurry by Scott Schuman. Acclaimed for his beautiful war zone photo reportage, you might know him for his world famous Afghan Girl picture who made it onto the cover of the National Geographic back in 1985. Aside from his reportage, McCurry occasionally shoots fashion related spreads such as the latest Pirelli Calendar.
