Te Quiero Stromae…

So here it is… after weeks and weeks waiting (ok, only 2 to be exact). The video has finally arrived!

I was really excited to see the final outcome of my work as a whole. With everyone else work included. Watching every scene and every take, one after another, is not the same as watching the edited piece. I must say the director and the editor did a great job. The outcome is the exact translation of what was in the script, only visually. And the image quality is beautiful. So bravo to everyone !

Here is the last set of pictures which I took during the 3rd and last day of filming. We spent the whole day shooting at the Cook&Book*.

The direction for the styling was Hélène et les Garçons… You might not know this soap if you grew up outside of France or Belgium but it was the cheesiest soap ever broadcasted on french television… Actually it was the mother of all cheesy soaps! If you thought the Young and the Restless was bad… you obviously haven’t seen this one. Although I’m saying that, I was a fan, probably like most teenagers from the Club Dorothée generation. It was the 80s-90s… the years of “bad” fashion, oversized everything and funny looking hairdos…

Lio – Banana Split di Leroidukitch

Back to the video… To obtain the Hélène et les garçons style you need to have:
2 doses of flashy colors
1 dose of mix and “missmatch”
1 bowl of 80s and 90s fashion
1 dose of “everything that lays in your wardrobe but that you wouldn’t be caught dead wearing”
1 extra spoon of Aquafresh smile
1 book of hairstyle: what not to do
1 heavy dose of bad acting
you mix all that with a big dose of fun and there you go…!

Say Cheese!

That day was a really busy one as I had around 20 extras to dress, but with a bit of organisation it went well. I dressed them 3 at a time to avoid queue and people overflowing in the “fitting room” (or should I say in the library, as they couldn’t close the whole venue for us, the customers could find people in underwear next to the books …)

After the final clap we had a little “end of shooting” drink on the Cook&Book terrasse. The sun was still up, it was a nice way to end the day…

*If you where to come to Brussels, I would highly recommend you to stop by the Cook&Book. Especially if you love food and books (obviously). You can browse their fine selection of books while eating a delicious meal. They also host concerts, book readings… It’s quite easy to spend the whole day there without noticing the time passing by…

LoL!
