Video inspirations… #4

Today I thought I would share with you some of the video that caught my attention recently…

First, the new advert for Prada by Steven Meisel… Some of you might have already seen it but I thought it was worth re-sharing. I really like the way Meisel recreated the sixties mood and gave it a modern twist with those clever music switches, not to mention that the photography is just sublime…!

Talking about the sixties, I just saw the movie “The Help” and if you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend you to watch it, as it is a truly beautiful movie..! As much as for its story than for the cast or its imagery. When making a movie about races, racism and stereotypes, I think it can be very hard not to fall into the clichés: the good but very sad drama that will make you come out of the cinema feeling sad and powerless. Or, the movie that fails to make you feel any connection to any of the characters by losing itself into an over-stereotyping frenzy so that you end up missing the whole point… “The Help” has it all but dosed to perfection!

The following, being the most interesting fashion-wise as it is a documentary on Tom Ford, presented in the style of a visual diary Ford comes back on his whole career, his first steps into fashion, his movie “A single man”, all the way to his first womenswear collection that he presented last year during his very private show… The documentary last 40 minutes but is really worth it… I found him to be a very intelligent and humble man.

This is a video from a Spanish brand I just discovered: Hoss Intropia. Featuring a singer that I also just discovered: Florrie. Together they make a really great combination as I found this little video quite funky. It also really made me want to learn the battery! (I mean, just for a minute…) By the way, did you know about this brand?

This last video is from one of my friend, Camille. She has an amazing voice which I’d love to steal but unfortunately can’t… So until I figure out a way to get the same voice, I suggest you to just lay on your sofa comfortably and enjoy as this song is the perfect treat to relax after a day of work… What do you think?
